ABOUT MEGHAN

Meghan is an award-winning journalist and audio producer based in New York City.

Meghan Offtermatt is an award-winning journalist and audio producer based in New York City. Right now, Meghan is the Production Director at WFUV 90.7 FM, an NPR affiliate in the Bronx. She is the Executive Producer of the station’s weekly podcast, “FUV Live Sessions” and she oversees all other creative non-music audio elements that run on air. She has also reported and produced two award-winning feature stories of her own, including No More 24, which won a Gracie Award in 2023 and The Contribution, which won a PMJA award in 2024.

She created and oversees the Student Audio Production program at WFUV, where she teaches undergraduate Fordham students the tenets of audio production and ethical journalism.

She has also worked extensively as a freelance journalist and audio producer. Her freelance work has been featured on podcasts by PRX, Dow Jones, MarketWatch, Best Case Studios, BikerLass Productions, Midnight MPH and Evanston Rules. Most recently, she produced episodes for Season 3 of PRX’s show, Food, We Need to Talk. She got her start in audio when she co-conceived the podcast, How to Save the World. The show focused on accessible climate-change solutions for a broad audience.

She is the proud recipient of a Master’s Degree from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism, where she studied while pivoting careers during the pandemic. She also holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theater from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts with a dual degree in Environmental Studies and a minor in Anthropology. Prior to pursuing journalism, she was a full-time musical theater performer. Ask her about all the animals she’s had to portray on stage – you won’t regret it.

She is based in Astoria, Queens and is celebrating 15 years in New York City this year.
